Advancing Neurotrauma Care in the State of New York
The New York Neurotrauma Consortium (NYNC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization comprised of healthcare providers, allied healthcare professionals, and researchers representing several organizations in the State of New York, primarily within the New York City Metropolitan Area (NYMA), who are dedicated to the promotion of research, education, and improvements in neurotrauma care. What began as an ad hoc research collaboration between individuals from different healthcare systems and academic centers has grown in the past couple years into a consortium of clinicians, researchers, and others with an interest in traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries.
The specific objectives and purpose of the New York Neurotrauma Consortium are:
Educate members and their respective institutions on neurotrauma and related issues;
Participate in research on the subject of neurotrauma and related issues;
Facilitate public awareness of issues related to neurotrauma;
Disseminate neurotrauma-related information to as wide an audience as possible;
Sponsor, host, and/or participate in events and activities that promote the dissemination of information (e.g. research or educational) related to neurotrauma.
