  • Annual New York Neurotrauma Consortium (NYNC) Virtual Symposium

Promoting education through our annual neurotrauma virtual symposium that brings together leading clinicians and researchers to discuss new therapies, answer common management questions, and debate recent controversies in the field.

Find information on our upcoming 5th Annual NYNC Virtual Symposium here. You can also view video content from our prior NYNC Virtual Symposiums here, as well. Please note that CME is no longer available for these past conferences.

  • White Paper Promoting Long-Term Follow-Up Measures in Severe TBI Research

Development of a white paper stressing the importance of comprehensive, long-term (>12 month) follow-up measures for future TBI clinical trials in an effort to maximize capture of meaningful clinical improvements. Data supports that many severe TBI patients continue to have significant neurological improvements beyong 6-12 months post-injury, however, long-term (>12 month) outcomes are rarely captured in clinical trials. This may have the unfortunate effect of biasing clinical trials with shorter follow-up and primary outcome time points towards negative results, inadvertently resulting in the discarding or abandonment of potentially beneficial therapies.

  • Effect of the COVID-19 Pandemic and Associated Mitigation Efforts on the Incidence and Outcomes of Neurotrauma in the New York Metropolitan Area (NYMA)

A multicenter, retrospective analysis of the incidence of neurotrauma (head and spine injuries) presenting to several different trauma centers in the NYMA prior to and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Correlation of the effect of the pandemic and various mitigation efforts (e.g., lockdowns, hospital diversion) on this incidence and predictors of neurotrauma outcomes in NYC during this public health crisis.
